Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Policy

Tata Steel (Thailand) Public Company Limited and its subsidiaries are committed and continue to strengthen their mission on Corporate Social Responsibility according to the aspirations of the founder of the Tata Group ‘Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata’ who mentioned that “in a free enterprise, the community is not just another stakeholder in business but is in fact the very existence of its existence.”

As a part of the vision “To adhere to the highest standards of business conduct”, the company has always endeavored to conduct its business responsibly, mindful of its social accountability, respecting applicable laws and giving due regards to human dignity. The Company’s long-term CSR objective is “to improve the quality of life of the communities we serve through long term value creation for all stakeholders”, which is in alignment with the Tata Core Value on “Responsibility”.

The Company shall allocate the budget towards CSR activities to improve and sustain a healthy and prosperous environment and to improve the quality of life of the communities it serves. The Company may also utilize its products and services as suitable for its CSR activities.

The Company shall positively impact and influence its employees and partners in fostering a sense of social commitment for their stakeholders.

Focused Geographic Spread
The focus areas for CSR developmental activities will be in urban as well as rural areas in the province in which it is located within 5 Kilometers radius. The Company may also support initiatives in other provinces across the country from time to time.

While we will ensure that all communities receive the benefits from our CSR activities, we would focus on those groups that are socially and economically marginalized. These would include women, girls, children and social under privileged people.

CSR Focus Areas
We aim at improving the quality of life of the communities nearby the workplace on 5 focus areas of CSR activities as follows:-
1. Developing a good relationship with communities and government agencies
2) Promoting religion, culture, education and local tradition
3) Promoting Health and Safety for Communities
4) Environmental Conservation and Natural Resource Restoration
5) Community Development and supporting the small and micro community enterprises by implementing CSR-BOI project with business process to help them for continuous development.

In the areas apart from the nearby communities, the Company continues to support the Non-Profit Organization in various forms as well as Universities Students’ Voluntary Camps, Natural Disasters Victims, and Social Underprivileged People. For “Grow Smart with Tata Steel Book Corner Project”, the Company will continue delivering additional books twice a year in a period of 5 years which adhere to the original commitment of the educational development in this mission.
