Tata Steel (Thailand) Plc. participated in the investment promotion project for grassroots economy of the Board of Investment of Thailand (BOI) to develop the 3 community enterprises around the plants to be strong, able to take care of themselves and increase their income and employment for the community by providing knowledge of management and business processes to assist in production planning, developing of the production process, accounting, promoting the development of products and packaging to meet customer’s need.
SCSC Plant located in Rayong Province has cooperated with Koh Kok Community Enterprise who saved the last rice field in Rayong Province and developed their local product “Rice Me: rice berry snack bar”. The Company aimed to expand their product line and their sales market with the new product “chocolate-covered rice berry snack bar” to increase income for the community.
On Tuesday, October 26, 2021, Tata Steel Manufacturing (Thailand) Public Company Limited – SCSC plant, a subsidiary of Tata Steel (Thailand) Public Company Limited arranged an inauguration ceremony for the development of the grassroots economy project at Koh Kok Community Enterprise, Rayong Province. Mr. Hatasakdi Na Pombejra, Chairman of the Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability Committee, presided over the inauguration ceremony to deliver chocolate coating machine to Koh Kok Community Enterprise and visit the production in the community for making chocolate covered rice berry snack bar.
